EYEBROW FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Please read prior to booking your

Microblading, Ombré/Powder Brows, Microshading or Brow Colour Correction Appointment.

It is strongly advised, for new clients to book their appointments at least 3-4 months in advance of vacations, weddings, and special occasions. This will allow adequate time for healing of both your initial appointment and touch-up appointment 6-8 weeks later.

As well, having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase sensitivity and discomfort during your procedure. Therefore, please avoid booking your appointment during this time.

In order to achieve the best results, it is extremely important to follow the pre and post care instructions.

Am I a good candidate for this brow service?

   Not suitable for the following candidates:
 

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
     

  • Anyone under the age of 18 years old
     

  • History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring
     

  • Diabetic (will require a physician's note/clearance)
     

  • Taking blood-thinning medication (unless you receive physician's note/clearance, to pause the medication 5 days prior to the appointment)
     

  • Autoimmune disorder
     

  • Taking antibiotics (must be a 14 day window between last dose and your appointment)
     

  • Cancer diagnosis/recently completed Chemotherapy (will require a physician's note/clearance)
     

  • Epilepsy (will require a physician's note/clearance)
     

  • Pacemaker (will require a physician's note/clearance)
     

  • Organ transplant
     

  • Sick with cold, flu, viral infection (please reschedule your appointment)
     

  • If you have been on prescription Accutane in the past. (you must wait at least one year before considering this procedure)
     

  • Have heart condition or uncontrolled high blood pressure
     

  • You have previous microblading or permanent makep (please contact me, I will need to see a photo)
     

  • Your skin is tanned or sun burned
     

  • Have skin disease or irritations:
    psoriasis/dermatitis, eczema, rashes, keratosis pilaris, chronic acne, rosacea (mild cases can be okay) on and around the brow area

     

  • Facial acids: retinols, retinoids, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), glycolic, exfoliating acids (must be discontinued 30 days prior to appointment)
     

  • Acne medication (will require a physician's note/clearance, to pause prior to procedure)
     

  • Hepatitis B/C  
     

  • Oily Skin - large pore skin that produces excessive oil (a much better choice for this skin type, is the machine shading - ombré powder brows)
     

  • Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine

 
Anyone who has any serious medical conditions may require a physician's note/clearance.

What should I expect at my first eyebrow,  appointment?

Consultation - Upon arrival you will begin with a consultation. Where the artist will explain the procedure, assess the shape, thickness of your eyebrows, hair colour and examine your skin tones and undertones. Laura will ask you questions about your tastes and lifestyle, to create the best eyebrow for you. As well, taking the time to answer any questions you may have.

Photos - Before and after photos are a great way to see your beautiful brow transformation. So, once the brows have been cleaned of any makeup/moisturizer, photos will be taken.

Brow Shaping - The brow shape created, is custom to each client, according to your facial features and the golden ratio. Once measured, mapped and shaped to perfection, the client will review approve the shape.

Colour - The colour of pigment is carefully chosen to match the natural or desired eyebrow colour, skin tone and undertone of the client. The client will then review and approve the colour.

Eyebrow Procedure - Microblading, Ombré/Powder Brows, Microshading or Brow Colour Correction & Coverup

After Photos - Once the microblading is complete and the client has time to look over them, photos will be taken of the clients new brows.

Aftercare - Each client will receive an aftercare bag and an aftercare instruction card, to take home and care of their new brows. As well, Laura will explain the aftercare in detail to the client. 

Book followup - The touchup appointment is booked for the client.
