These procedures (Microblading, Ombre/Powder Brow, Microshading) are considered
semi-permanent, as the pigments are implanted into the superficial layer of the skin, not like the traditional body tattoos.
Therefore, the brows will naturally fade overtime and clients will only require annual touchups (between 12-24 months) to maintain their brow shape and colour.
What causes brows to fade?
Sun Exposure - over time the UV rays can cause fading. It is important to apply an SPF of 50 on your eyebrows, when directly in the sun.
Facial Products - Retinol, Brightening Serums (Vitamin C and E), AHA's (Lactic Acid, Citric Acid, Glycholic Acid, Salicylic Acid) and Exfoliants.
These products increase cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo, by fading. Therefore, avoid applying these products on or around your eyebrows. Your face in fine, just avoid your brow area.
As well, oily skin and some medical conditions.
